FROM THE HEART OF
EVANGELIST BENJAMIN BAUMGARDT
Dear Friends
A few weeks ago I set out to help some special people here in Southeast
One of the things that I come in contact with is many people in
church love to bring up the fact to me that one day I won’t be in a wheelchair and it thrills my soul to think of that
moment and time that is coming. I get happy when I am reminded of this, but there is also a part of me that wants to take that person by the hand and say to them with love, "But what about now?” And I believe that this is how many people with disabilities also feel. Although I am a Christian and I am looking forward to going home to be with Jesus one day, still I must live in this life for now. And sometimes it seems the church wants to ignore the fact that I to need and desire fellowship and love just like everyone else needs. No, I am not feeling sorry for myself I am happy because The Lord Jesus lives in me and I am never alone.
Also there are people in the church the only thing that they can say is look to Jesus for your healing. And while I do believe that Jesus does heal today I do not believe, as some do, that you have to be totally healed in order for God to live and flow through your life. It is sad but true that sometimes, not always, the church give out a message to people with disabilities that they must first be heal before they can do anything for God. The church need to understand that God can use a person with an disability to be a witness of what God can do for others as well
There is a ministry called Special Touch that ministers to people with disabilities. This ministry is already in fourteen states and we would like to see this ministry here in
I ask you to read over the brochure and think about the people that you know around you who may have an disability. Then ask yourself “don’t they deserve the chance to here about God love for them. Then let me hear your comments on bringing SPECIAL TOUCH to south geeorgia.
Let me here from you.
